The existential 'doom and gloom' currently pervading the news u0026 media has been getting me down lately. On the occasions where I get fed up with technology and the ways in which we unnecessarily complicate our lives; I often think of how nice it would be to simply cash everything u0026 move to the mountains. This track you're about to listen to, entitled 'snowday' is a little something I whipped up to remind of my love of the mountains, snow the early days of my youth spent snowboarding. Do enjoy! :)
This is the first in a series of ambient sketches created using the input of a monome 256 which is, in turn, fed into Plogue Bidule via virtual MIDI. The flexible solution allows me to push the data from the monome into any number of plugins, with any number of instances (fully chainable). In this case, I used Native Instruments Reaktor as my sound source. As with any work in progress, somewhat little has been done with the audio in regard to sequencing and processing. Additionally, being with my 256 at the moment, I've had to render my audio from MIDI files stored on my hard drive. As you can understand, this 'really' takes the aspect of performance out of any composition. I hope you enjoy. Any commentary is very much welcome.
An off-the-cuff demo from spending time with the FX and looping in Traktor Pro (which I normally don't use for music creation). Mirroring my opinion of most things, the process and moment of creation is far more rewarding that the end result. Although, I do hope you enjoy the moment as it drifts into the ether. Thanks for listening.
